Cute little Soda Shop in Downtown Independence...

They have all kinds of treats, sodas, milkshakes, cookies, 

desserts, ice cream, candies etc.  They even sell T-shirts and

other gifts items.

Polly's Pop has been unique to the area for many years.  It's

a soda that comes in lots of flavors!

President Harry Truman grew up in Independence and his 

first job was working at this Clinton's Soda shop!  George loves

to order a Strawberry Chocolate milk shake there! :-)

She couldn't believe the candles didn't go out!  I thought they 

must be trick candles...but they weren't!! LOL!  She is vegan, 

so Elder Lovell made a joke by saying "Eat more meat!"

She got a kick out of that!

I guess we still needed a birthday treat after breakfast!  Sister

Lovell made the Cinnamon rolls!  Sisters Udall, Mease, Gonzales,

Garay, Farnsworth, Rice, Angerbauer and Bleak.

Historic Downtown Liberty (HDTL) Promotion Committee Meeting...

This picture shows just a few of those that are on this committee 

that help to promote downtown businesses, museums, Historic

sites, etc.  We try to do our part and it's a fun group of people 

and a good cause.

Our Last Zone Conference with the Vests!

This is the Zone Leaders in Liberty giving a training on 

Doctrine & Covenants 4:2...Serving with all your 

Heart, Might, Mind and Strength! Great Training from 

them, President Hancock, Sister Vest and President Vest.

We also had a Brother Gail come and talk about Adjusting 

to Missionary Life.  Lots of missionaries were called up

randomly to give thoughts on their studies of the Doctrine

of Christ in the Book of Mormon and their Prayers of 

Accountability...which was very interesting...

Visit From Our Good Friends, The Lowry's, May 27-31...

George and I had to speak in Independence 1st Ward at

8:30 a.m.  We then picked up Joe and Gladys Lowry for

Sacrament Meeting at Blue Mills Ward at 10:30.  Our 

next activity was a visit to Historic Liberty Jail...

Friday Morning Training Meeting, May 25th...

and Elder & Sister Parker.  The Sharp's had already gone

upstairs to open the Center.  We had a wonderful Training on

Doctrine & Covenants sections 121-123...Wonderful revelations

given to Joseph Smith while being incarcerated in Liberty Jail.

Key messages are Adversity, Revelation and Refining of a 

Prophet.  It was a very enjoyable and inspiring discussion. 

We had the same Training at Historic Liberty Jail the day before. 

I was unable to get a picture there after Training, because we 

had visitors waiting right when it opened at 9:00 am!

Sister Littell's Birthday...

Sisters Davies, Giraud Carrier, Edwards, Littell, Soutas, 

Bingham and Rust!  We're wishing Sister Littell a happy 

happy birthday!  We love sister Littell and are so glad to have 

her at the Visitors' Center! 💕
