New Couples, Visitors and History tour...

Sister (Nancy) and Elder Paul Hansen.  We're so
glad they are here serving as a Senior couple at
the Independence Missouri Visitors' Center and
Historic Liberty Jail.

We're serving together again!  They served with
us in the Philippines 4 years ago!  They are
such wonderful missionaries and we feel
blessed to have them here!

This is a Returned Missionary from our Philippines
San Pablo Mission!  His name is Alex Yost.
He stopped here on his way home to Virginia!
It was so good to seen him again!
What a fine young man he is!

Alex with his mother, being taught by Sisters Bingham and
Mudrow at Joseph Smith's timeline display.

Elder Peterson, Alex, Sister Peterson and Sister Yost.

Sister Welch is teaching about the History of Independence,
Jackson County, Missouri.

Just a different view...

Sister Welch in continuing to teach a group in the cabin...

This is a room at the end of the History tour.  It talks about growth
of the church since the time of Joseph Smith.

This is a little section where children can play and pretend...

Here we are with Rene Brooks who we knew when we were raising
our kids in Coolidge.  Her dad was our Bishop for most of our time
there.  She stopped here for a tour, not knowing that we were serving
here!  The Hansens knew her too!  Pictured is Elder and Sister
Hansen, Rene, Myself and Elder Peterson.

Here we are with Rene and her cute family...

Where we were helping out at Liberty Jail, we ran into this
young man, Brother Alvaro!  His brother served with us in our
in the Philippines. He had an aunt and other relatives with them
that also recognized us... They all live in Texas now.  It was
fun to run into thes

Our Stake President, Jay Andersen, and his wife, Cindy,
and their family came for a visit to the VC and HLJ and
we had the opportunity to visit with them while they
were here!  Cindy's parents came too! Great family!

This was a unique opportunity to run into this family, the
Christiansen's from Cincinnati, Ohio.  They were good friends
to our son, Grant and his wife, Amy.

It was fun to run into Kristi and Hyrum Wright while they were
on a tour with a group of Seminary and Institute teachers! They
are friends from Gilbert, Arizona!

June, 2017 Transfers...

Saying goodbye...

Sweet Sister Gonzales was with us for just a short time.  She
was out in full proselyting area for a long time.  We got to
have her at the Historic Liberty Jail for one transfer before
she finished her mission.  We will miss her!

We love you Sister Gonzales!

We were so blessed to have these two in the Visitors'
Center for one transfer!  They are two great missionaries
whose mission call was for a full proselyting mission,
not Visitors' Center called. We love them!
Sister Sly and Sister Orton.

Sister Orton went back to full proselyting area...so did
Sister Sly... (I missed getting a picture of her with us!)

These two really enjoyed being companions this
transfer!  Sister Cooper stayed but Sister Sly left
us this transfer...Out to full proselyting...

Sister Rice was a fabulous missionary.  She finished
her mission after serving with us 2 transfers at the
Liberty Jail.  We'll miss her!  Again, I'm sorry we
didn't get a picture of her with us too!

Sweet Sister Edwards...we will miss her too!  She went
back out to a full proselyte area!

She's a sweetheart and a good missionary!!

This was taken the night before transfers.  Dressed up just for the
pictures, these sisters have been serving here in Liberty Jail
together this transfer.  Sisters Angerbauer, Farnsworth,
Gonzales, Garay, Mease, Udall, Rice and Bleak.

all the other Sisters are waving goodbye to Sisters
Gonzales and Rice.

serving at Liberty Jail before returning home.

Sister Gonzales, also expressing her testimony...

Udall.  Back row, Sisters Mease, Farnsworth, Gonzales, Rice,
Bleak and Garay.

Welcome new Missionaries...

Here's the new missionaries with President and Sister Vest.  I wish
I knew all of their names...I only know the ones that are VC called.
Starting with the first sister on the left, Sisters Welch and Godfrey.
The one on the far right is Sister Yates.  Sisters Welch and Yates
are assigned to the VC and Sister Godfrey to the Liberty Jail.
