Words of Wisdom by Sister Peterson (me)
D&C 42:6 "And ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit,
preaching my gospel, two by two, in my name, lifting up
your voices as with the sound of a trump, declaring
my word like unto angels of God."
These sisters truly are are powerful and we wanted them
to always look and act as Christ's representatives. We
went over dress and grooming that comes from
the church website.
Elder Peterson (George) Talked about teaching with the
Spirit and then turned the time over the Elder and Sister
Lovell to give a PowerPoint presentation on Prayers of
Faith. It was beautifully done.
Elder Peterson then went to the scriptures and Emphasized
D&C 42:14 "And the Spirit shall be given unto you by
the prayer of faith; and if ye receive not the Spirit ye
shall not teach." And then in D&C 50:13-14 "Wherefore,
I the Lord ask you this question—unto what were ye
ordained [set apart]? To preach my gospel by the Spirit,
even the Comforter which was sent forth to teach the truth."
D&C 50:17-18, 22 "Verily I say unto you, he that is
ordained [set apart] of me and sent forth to preach the
word of truth by the Comforter, in the Spirit of truth,
doth he preach it by the Spirit of truth or some other way?
"And if it be by some other way it is not of God."
"Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth,
understand one another, and both are edified
and rejoice together." He then took them turn to
D&C 100:5-8 "Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up
your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that
I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be
confounded before men; For it shall be given you in the
very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall
declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in
solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all
things. And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch
as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in
bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say."
He reminded them to take their responsibility to
teach by the Spirit seriously and in humility. And
still be cheerful and have a good time. It was a great
training! Closing Prayer was given by Sister Udall
Training at the Visitors' Center was conducted
by Sister GC. The Pianist was Sister Bench and the
Chorister was Sister Rust. Opening Hymn was #3
"Now Let Us Rejoice" Opening Prayer by Sister Anderson.
The Training was pretty much the same except that
Elder and Sister Johnson gave the presentation on
"The Prayer of Faith". It was a wonderful training also.
Our Closing Prayer was given by Sister Davidson.
