President & Sister Vest (Mission President & wife), President
& Sister Cato (Independence Stake President & wife) and
Sister & Elder Peterson (Director of Independence Visitors
Center and Liberty Jail & wife). :-)
We had an enjoyable evening last Friday night, January 27,
at the Visitors Center with President Cato and his wife.
Sister Cato sang an opening hymn, "Be Thou Humble",
a primary song after the opening prayer and then another
song for closing that was about being a witness of the truth.
President Cato accompanied her on the piano. She has a
sweet, pretty and unforced voice. They both gave
beautiful talks together about their conversion to the
LDS church from the RLDS church. It was an amazing
story. We had at least 80 people in attendance.
We are having these "Friday Night Out" Firesides to
help inspire others to Come unto Christ and also to
bring people to the Visitors' Center and see and feel
what we have here. The theme for the Fireside this
year is, "Why I Believe."
