This is the only picture we got at the MTC in Provo, Utah.
We were set apart by Brent Nielson of the 1st Quorum of
Seventy on Monday night. We got to have dinner with
Dallin H. Oaks and hear him speak. Neil L. Anderson had
dinner with us another night and spoke there and again in a
Devotional Tuesday night for all the missionaries! Tuesday
and Wednesday were filled with training classes from the
mission department, including the Missionary Executive
Committee. We even got to have Sister Bonnie Oscarson,
who is on that committee, and taught us from the Adjusting
To Missionary Life booklet. She is very insightful! We
loved hearing from her! We had wonderful training from all!
Our 3rd and last day of training happened in Salt Lake City.
We had lots of Training in the Joseph Smith Memorial
Building and then went out on Temple Square to teach with
the Sister Missionaries there. These are the two we had the
privilege of working with. One was from South Korea
and the other from Austria. They taught us, then we taught
them. They also took us to the computers where we got to
do some hands on teaching on the internet. Great experience!
These Sisters do a wonderful job!
Our selfie from the Asian Sister! (She called herself!) Yes,
we love them already and appreciate the lesson they taught us.
This quote was given to us in our training in SLC. Mr.
Chamberlain was talking about a hill in Gettysburg, but
his words has significance to how we might feel
about some of our Church Historical Sites.
Elder David A. Bednar spoke to us in the Joseph Smith
Memorial Building about teaching like the Savior,
"One By One"... Great talk! And he let us listen to the
song he wrote with Paul Cardall, entitled, "One By One".
It was beautiful. I have the CD that contains that song
but I left it home! :-( Elder Bednar also had dinner
with us that night! We sure enjoyed being with him!
